State Park Visitor Topographic Map
Sponsor: Admin. Office of Washington State Park
Working with a local state park administration team, I utilized ArcGIS software to design a map that would serve as a comprehensive guide for hikers and visitors. The main objective of this project was to create a map that would clearly display all the park's facilities and trails in an easy-to-read manner. By incorporating topographic data, visitors can assess the difficulty level of each trail.
In the design process, I utilized the principles of design thinking to create a map that would cater to the visitors' needs while staying true to the park's identity. The design thinking process involved empathizing with the visitors' needs, defining the problem, ideating solutions, prototyping the design, and testing the map to ensure its effectiveness. The final product was a visually appealing and user-friendly map that is currently being used by park visitors to navigate the park's trails and facilities.
